Lonewolf, you choose UVA over Columbia. Thats great. C ville is very nice place to spend next three years. Just to let you know, U hts may not be walking distance.

It's not much further than Ivy...other side of Ivy Road.  15 minute walk, less on a bike.

Yeah I think it's about a mile. It would be less but there's no direct route from where U_heights is on Ivy Rd. and where the Ivy Garden cut-through is off of Old Ivy Rd, so you have to walk around.

Also, walking under that underpass on Old Ivy is unpleasant when there's traffic. Still, the walk is doable in 15. You can just cut through the Miller Center once you get onto Old Ivy.

So you guys think i'd have to drive from u heights? I know if you drive it'll be 1 mile, but you have to drive in a semi-circle to get to the law school. I thought maybe i could just cut through it and walk...

You can take a ride with my son, if you wish.

Like the doctor said, the underpass is narrow and a lot of people wouldn't want to make it. But you could still do it. And the drive is still pretty short if you drive every day.

I had a question for you Goodfella. After reading some old syllabi it seems that some profs threaten to lower your grade if you are not prepared in class. Does that really happen or is it just something they say to keep us from slacking off? It seems that many profs say you get 3 passes and if you screw up at other times you may lose some points...

I've never heard of anyone's grade being lowered for not being prepared. It'd be tough to enforce because the odds you'll get cold called on any given day is slim. I wouldn't worry about it.

My understanding is that grades are blind, meaning prof does not know who is he grading.Isn't the GoodfellowAron.

There's blind grading on finals, correct. But a professor can still make class participation a part of your grade.

PS the course schedules are up. Civ Pro at 830 am, can't say I envy you guys.
