So... most new year's plans that I was remotely interested in are falling through, and most of my friends are out of town.

How lame would it be to just not bother? Would I be officially old and lame?

Come to Utah!  Have dinner!  Go skiing!

And I think there's a half a day of skiing in my future tomorrow (finally.)

And this was funny:

I actually spent New Year's in Salt Lake two years ago! I got mocked for thinking there was no alcohol in the entire state of Utah and bringing like two handles for a four-day trip. And yes, there were good restaurants!

I hope the white-outs let up and you get in some good skiing...

We were both here!  (But I was up in the hills.)

I loved SLC.  We were going to move there but I got knocked up.

Also, I love sparkling wine and I like that this holiday is an excuse to drink it with friends.

It really is a surprisingly cool place!

ION, I am extremely put out. I got the Planet Earth DVDs for Christmas, but apparently it's the HD-DVD version and not the regular one, and I can't watch it, not even on the computer!

bah!

I'm back in Boston for the next few days...  going to some firm stuff (including a semi interview) on Wednesday/ Thursday.  But no big plans for tomorrow..  may wind up watching the fireworks and headed in for an early bed.

It's supposed to turn into Alaska soon though, I think  :-\

Thanks! I'm totally excited. Hopefully I won't be attacked by rabid law students clawing for my job!

Haha! You mean it gets colder than this!?? I don't remember seeing that in the promotional materials.

Seriously, it's been easier to acclimate than I thought it would be. I remember when I came here back in February and I was so cold when it was 26 degrees outside. :)

They are rabid, that's the truth. It's hard not to get caught up in it. I'm not nearly as interested in the big law jobs as the rest of them are, so I'm pretty laid back about it now.

Huh? SLC is bad for babies?

Pretty much all of Utah is pretty. I drove it from north to south once.

E&E seems like it would be the best prep, but it's not like the reading is light.

1.  E&E's read like brochures after a few weeks of law school
2.  STOP READING E&E'S.  Don't be that guy.
