What happens when u accept a fin. aid package from 1 school, & then go elsewhere

So I have a financial aid package from one school... I will take out the max gov't loans and will take PLUS loans (thru) the school to cover the rest.  I'm on a bunch of waitlists and would consider going elsewhere if I get off one of the lists.

I'm assuming that my Federal loans transfer over to the new school.  What about my PLUS loans?

Sorry, I didn't have to pay anything for undergrad, so this is all new...

Thanks in advance.

I'm in almost the same situation. This is the first time for me to take out loans, too. :)

Are you talking about the letter most schools send asking you to accept/decline various aid sources?  If so, nothing has really happened yet.  The school simply uses this to get the paperwork going for the stafford/plus/other loans.  Before it's finalized and disbursed, there's more paperwork.

At least that's how it has worked with the school I'm attending; you might want to call your school's financial aid office (anonymously) and make sure it's the same there.
