"No. Not unless round is funny."

Raising Arizona

I have probably seen this movie at least 50 times.  It only gets better and better.

Can you describe what the child was wearing?
He was in his damn jammies.  They had yodas and *&^% on 'em.

Also, I don't think Coens deserve full credit/blame for Intolerable Cruelty. If I remember correctly, they didn't write it. I think it was the first film they did that wasn't entirely their creation. (And it's also the first one they did that wasn't so good.)

It was a remake. The problem with it (I thought) was a wildly uneven tone. It veered between screwball comedy and trademark Coen Bros. comic violence, etc. One moment, it is very funny; the next, excruciatingly unfunny.

Am I really the only Miller's Crossing backer out there?

No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a remake. It was a rewrite, but not a remake. I agree, though, that it was uneven -- not quite sure of what it wanted to be.

You're right. It wasn't a remake. Just supposed to emulate certain films' style. On IMDB, the Coens have a shared screenwriting credit, meaning they at least worked on the script.

It was in development for almost a decade: a very bad sign.

the scene where the hitman blew his brains out was perhaps the funniest thing i'd seen in the half year surrounding my viewing of that film.
