I've only heard of people losing weight.

I know lots of people who gained weight first year.

i feel like you either gain or lose, depending on how you cope with stress. I happen to eat less when im stressed out, but i know plenty of people that eat more.  plus it depends on how you eat.  in law school you are constantly busy so you end up eating meals to go alot and snacking which can be fattening.  I dont really cook anyway so i didnt really notice a big difference..

I can think of several people who've gained weight, I think gaining is more common than losing.

I gained 10 lbs during finals alone.  I ate an entire pint of B&Js (chubby hubby, i think) while studying for admin.  I haven't done that since college!

I totally went soft during 1L.  I chalk it up to:

* Going from running about 40-50 miles/wk to running not at all
* Going from eating very healthily with lots of homecooked meals and fresh produce to, well, eating like a law student.
* There's always that brain tumor - it causes all kinds of weird hormone problems and tend to gain weight when under stress even when my eating and exercise habits don't change

Anyway, I'm vehemently anti-diet but I think that the book Intuitive Eating is wonderful for those who want to get their bodies back in balance.

Since starting law school I've gained like 13 pounds.  Actually, I may be down to only having gained an aggregate of 8 or 9 but I'd really like to get the rest off again.  On the upside, however, gaining wait made me grow an ass for the first time in my life.

i fail to see a downside to this.
