yeah, seriously? an aussie? i'm a direct descent of pocahontas (thorough john rolfe) and an indirect descendent of thomas jefferson....come on, uva..

this is actually funny...i think this is my first drunken lsd post, as i don't remember making it. and it's freakishly grammatically correct for a drunk post..

Y'all don't know what you're talking about. Australia had a referendum re: independence. We voted to keep the monarchy. So shut your f-ing pie hole.

Canada keeps kicking the idea around...I don't think they'll ever can the monarchy.

I don't think they're seriously kicking it around, given the monarchy's reception in Alberta this summer.

That's just it, though.  Canada suffers from much of the same sort of red-tape that the US suffers from.

It's the principle of the matter.  There should be no pretentious figurehead here.  We've got enough pretentious elected politicians already.  We're basically admitting to being Britain's female dog.

And, as I've mentioned before, I had to swear allegiance to the Queen to become a citizen.  What IS that *&^%?  @#!* the Queen!

Anyway, I'm not disputing the UK's right to have a monarch.  They can knock themselves out for all I care.  Go crazy with that King and Queen *&^%.  It just shouldn't have to be anyone else's burden (THREE MILLION?  I MEAN, COME ON!!!).

question: why is colonel a "bird"- like lt. bird and full bird.

i don't recall the colonels markings having a bird on them?

and is the military really overwhelmingly republican? i had always heard that it was slightly republican in the enlisted area, and then got more republican leaning as you got into the officer corps.
