smaller market big firms

Is it too late to be applying (as a 1L) to big firms in smaller markets?  I am specifically interested in Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Indianapolis.  I know that it is too late in Chicago(where i go to school) but I was hoping to pick up a big firm job elsewhere possibly.  Thanks for your help

I just received an offer for a big firm in St. Louis, and there are 5 other big firms doing OCI next week, so they are definitely still hiring.
