OH, lol, in case you haven't noticed my LSD reading comprehension has been really terrible as of late.

Yeah, I've thought about white collar defense, as it solves the $$ problem, but that brings up the issue of representing clients that I despise (not that this won't be a problem in, oh, any job I take, especially if it's BigLaw).

In my CURRENT job, I work in pharmaceutical product liability.  I only work on one giant case that's been dragging on for years and years.

And you can't do M&A because big corporations are ruining American, right?

I've to some extent made my peace with this (not corporations ruining America, but that there isn't much sense in trying to turn my career into a big old protest against The Man, if you know what I mean).  I think, though, that I would be much less comfortable with defending individuals engaged in dubious business practices and such things.

However, I still don't really want to go into M&A because I find business dreadfully boring.

I actually like the practice area I'm in now a LOT.  I think torts are really interesting, and I was sort of shocked to find that after I got into the nitty-gritty details of this case I found the corporation's defense to be more compelling than the plaintiffs' arguments.

Well-reasoned, and fair.

I have completely lost my ability to distinguish between sarcasm and sincerity over the internet  :-\

Non-sarcastic.  I don't think it's you, i just think this might be the first genuine thing i've said in my 700 posts.

i think this just has to be accepted as an occupational hazard.

Oh, so you're the anti-corporate hippie I should be snickering at. (or, at whom I should be snickering)

you do have quite a weekend ahead ;)

i've literally been asking people to give me work to do, to no avail. i really can't believe i'm getting paid. i feel especially guilty when i read all of these articles about the poor factory workers having their hours cut.

oh well. in other news. bf comes to visit tomorrow!!!!!

Or the people in your own field who are losing their real jobs right now...

But that's neither here nor there - what've you got scheduled for you and guy so far?

hey lil lady - how you doing this fine morning?

oh, just 'working'. so, you know, reading the times, drinking coffee, planning my weekend. how's down by you?

Not sure exactly what that's asking, but I'm well.  Working/music-hunting on youtube.  Looking forward to the weekend, but I try not to 'plan' too much.

remember when nike quit LSD two weeks ago?  that was fun.

Don't worry, I'm just stopping in - you can get back to being the center of everyone's undivided attention soon enough.
