General Off-Topic Board / Re: Myers Brigg personality poll

I once heard that I/E depends not on whether you like to be around people, but how you "rest."  Let me try to explain because it sounds odd :)  For example, there are people who get their energy from being around others - those are extroverts.  Others (like me) need some time alone, although they don't necessarily dislike big crowds.

My in-laws (both therapists) explain it exactly this way.  It's not that you don't like to be around people, but that you recharge by yourself.  You live a lot in your head.  Lots of entertainers are actually introverts, in that sense.

Last time they were visiting, the in-laws had a book that talked about different mixes of MB personality types in relationships.  It was highly entertaining for my husband and me.

I don't understand how anyone could possibly "rest" in the company of others. But I'm an introvert.

"Secret" videos of you impersonating Eminem in front of a mirror are leaked onto YouTube.

I think it has more to do with your desire to BE around people. In fact, I can see how introversion might make it easier to do things in front of groups, etc. because you're not as invested with the people as much as you are with whatever you're doing.

That's true.  I'm definitely introverted, but I have no problem speaking in front of groups, maybe because I don't care what other people think?

I'm in the same category. I don't think it's because I don't care what people think, it's more along the lines of adopting a persona to be wild with. If I have to act like me, I'm very shy.

So I have no problem with giving a presentation or doing something on stage, but I'll rarely "mingle" in a crowd. Unless I'm making myself the resident pre-n-word Kramer.

Also, people wear me out.

We really need a LSD lingo thread, I have no idea what is going on.

see here: http://xoxohth.com

Guys from my high school posted on XO all the time

It was no big deal.

Like blowjobs in the bathroom stalls?

Dude...wtf?

Maybe that was just my high school.

There was some story, though, about that happening, and the assistant principal just happened to be using the same restroom, and...you can guess.

He got one too?

If he did, it didn't keep them from getting suspended.

Although that would be a sweet job.

It's good to see other INFJ's!!! All the personality profiles I've read say I shouldn't be a lawyer. As I recall, ENTJ's tend to dominate the profession.

At least your head's not up in the clouds. Oh, look, space kittens!

:D

I think the last time I took the test I was an INTJ, but apparently I feel more now.

Either that, or you've gotten dumber.

# very expressed introvert
# very expressed intuitive personality
# moderately expressed feeling personality
# very expressed perceiving personality

I'd say I waffle between INFP and INTP, depending on the circumstance. All the others are indisputably correct. I am completely IN-P.

I'd apply there.

But not WUSTL. I hate the Cardinals and I couldn't stand to be around their fans.

Plus the Cardinals are World Series Champions, and they have a good chance to repeat.

@#!* the Cardinals. Those assholes ruined baseball for me forever. I hate them with my last dying breath.
