Incoming 1Ls / Re: Moving Woes

I'm not sure if I posted this before -- but have you looked into UPS?  I was really surprised to learn that I could send 10 large moving boxes worth of stuff weighing up to 500 lbs from DC to Chicago via UPS ground for around $300.

As a result I've decided to sell all my furniture and just ship personal items.

But I wanna be an NU troll -- no offense to Cornell!

DCB Congrats on your acceptance.  Having made the Cornell or Northwestern choice I think you should definitely go to Northwestern.

I had sent a letter after I was deferred, but nothing since I received the waitlist e-mail.

Penn just called me to see if I was interested in a spot, but I said no.  Having bought a condo in Chicago I'm comitted to Northwestern.  It is a little bittersweet though as it was a top choice of mine.  Hope someone else gets my spot!

that's exciting to hear, thanks for sharing--and i'm sure you'll be super happy at northwestern!

Thanks!  I'm pretty excited.

I'm a proponent of addendum's.  I would much rather have the adcomm know I took a quarter off because I was sick rather than  was just being a slacker.  I think it shows maturity that you made a decision to do what seemed right at the time.

3 LSATs -- 157, 165, 167, GPA 3.76, 2 years work experience

I got a great scholarship from GW so they were looking at the highest, as were Northwestern and Cornell.

I think if I'd only had the highest score I might have gotten into a couple of the Duke, Virginia, Penn, Michigan group (especially as I just got a place of Penn's waitlist).

And maybe my NYU / Columbia apps might have been WL instead of rejected.

Overall retaking, even the third time, helped me.
