Current Law Students / Any 2L or 3L's at UNC? I Need Your Help!
« on: January 03, 2010, 08:59:06 AM »
As the subject suggests, I am looking for any 2L or 3L's at UNC. Anyone?

Looking at going into family law/child advocacy Fall 10' and I really like the Boston, NY, and Chicago areas. Any other areas or specific schools I should be looking at?

I was looking for the same thing. Didn't find anything in Boston or NY (but I didn't look too hard). Got a good offer through DePaul (They have a center for child advocacy) where they would pay me to do a child advocacy internship at a non-profit during my 1L summer. The student rep from the center who called said that Chicago-Kent had the better program in this area of law.

I am having a little trouble understanding why you would want to go to law school if you do not want to become a lawyer. Sure, I can think of instances where a law degree may be helpful with some other professions, but it is completely unnecessary to achieve your goals. You only need a baccalaureate degree to become a NCIS special agent, so attending law school for three years would be not only a waste of time, but a huge waste of money.

C'mon, I know there are other 1L's who check this thread. I saw one of you doing it in Contracts yesterday.

I don't see you getting rejected from either school with a 160, 2.8 GPA

And who are your professors?

I have Wessman for contracts, Hancock for Crim Law, Friedman for Civ Pro, Fedtke for torts, and Sacket for LRW. The workload for the first week has been pretty reasonable, I just feel as if I am missing something, as if this is just some big joke to make me feel like an idiot. So far, love the school and the city.

I'm here...not sure if anyone else is.
