Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Law School Gallery

Great idea!  It will be nice to get some unbias pictures of campuses, because I am sure the Universities only take pictures of the perfect spots, under the perfect lighting, and in perfect weather to make the schools look great...

Law School Admissions / LSAC ABA Guide WORKING!!!
« on: April 28, 2004, 09:01:40 PM »

Just to let everyone know, it seems as though LSAC fixed the calculations with the ABA Official Guide.  You can now get a fairly accurate idea about your chances at specific schools.

Law School Admissions / Re: I'm glad I didn't apply to UT...

Its obvious that the LSAC calucations are messed up.  If you look at UT's LSAT/GPA acceptance grid, 18 out of 18 people with 175-180 LSATs and 3.75+ GPAs were accepted.  This puts the percentage of acceptance at 100%, not less than 25%.  LSAC really needs to get its act together and fix their calculations, their mistakes are scaring a lot of people...

Law School Admissions / Re: New Numbers on

Don't worry too much about it.  Those numbers are all incorrect.  The calculations don't come anywhere NEAR the truth.  I really wish LSAC could get their stuff together and actually put together something decent for once... Anyways, if you want to see a true reflection of your chances, don't worry about the calculations and instead look at the GPA/LSAT acceptance chart of each school.  That will be a better reflection of the actual admission cycle.

Law School Admissions / ABA-LSAC Official Guide Up...

Just to let everyone know, the ABA-LSAT official guide has been posted on  However, I do believe there are major gliches.  For example, with a 3.55 and a 170, I only have a less than 25% chance of getting into ASU law school.  hmmmmm....

Law School Admissions / Re: Early Decision Question...

See, I've heard the complete opposite.  When I visited Notre Dame, they said since they only accept a small pool of applicants, the Early Decision option may set a person apart because Notre Dame will be sure that person is attending.  It cuts down on the ambiguity of acceptances vs. attending formula.  I guess every school is different.

Law School Admissions / Early Decision Question...
« on: April 25, 2004, 09:11:33 AM »

I've noticed that many schools I am interested in offer an Early Decision option.  While most of these school say this option is "binding," I noticed that many have multiple law schools checked for Early Decision in  Exactly how "binding" is an early decision policy?  Will a school hunt you down if you apply early decision and don't attend?

Law School Admissions / Scholarships...

Public interest work, such as FBI, has always interested me.  However, in order to go into this field I can't have a lot of debt when I graduate.  So my question is, what Law Schools are traditionally generous with merit based scholarships?  I looked on the USNews report at different schools, but its hard to tell from that.  My numbers are 3.55 from Large Public in Texas, and I'm floating around a 165 on practice LSATs.

Law School Admissions / Nation School outside of top 14...
« on: April 12, 2004, 11:11:21 PM »

What are some of the more "national" schools outside the top 14?  I know Notre Dame and Vanderbilt are, but are there any more? I don't know where I want to practice, and my stats are 3.55/hovering around 165 (with a LOT of EC), so 15-35 is probably around my range.  Thank you.
