Job Search / Re: No offers--now what?

Don't let these people get to you. They assume firms give 100% offers to anyone who doesn't fall on their face in an interview. Just isn't true, particularly in this economy. Just broaden your search, keep sending out resumes/Cover letters like crazy. And good luck.

Many law students are the worst kind of people, particularly during your first year. They all try to sound smart in class. It seems like EVERYONE understands everything. But it's an act. You see, many of these people raise their hand every time they know what's going on. So, if only 2-3 people are raising their hand, that lets you know a number of people don't know what's going on.

The smartest people are often the people not saying anything.  ;)

That said, I don't have an issue with people speaking up in class. I just have an issue when people do it to try and sound smart and intimidate their classmates. (I haven't really seen this after first year).

Go take 2-3 easy classes at an undergrad and get an LSAT tutor.

Less debt.

Depends on what you want to do.

Highest ranked pwns lower ranked.

Which of those 3 sounds the most like something you'd say? 180k is a lot of money, particularly after you pay it off (in 10 years it'll end up being like 360k total spent)

Everyone thinks it is a lot of fun until end of November/beginning of December exam cramming. Live it up.

Elementary question, but...what is the best way to accept the offer? Call the office? E-mail? Written Letter? And who do we call/contact?

And what info do we need to put in? (How many weeks we're working, whether it's first/second half...or just say I plan to work at your office for the summer?)

Job Search / Re: 7 callbacks, 6 rejections

Lower ranked firms rejected me. Place I will probably work is higher ranked. It's weird. Maybe the firms like uptight people and you don't fit in? It sucks, but what are you going to do? Keep trying. I know the rejections screw with your head a little bit, but just remember it is nothing personal.

I don't understand why they interviewed you.

But I had an interview (On campus) during my 2L year where the interviewer, at the end, said "We're not hiring 2Ls."
