Law School Admissions / Re: High GPA / Low LSAT Splitters Club
« on: February 16, 2006, 04:21:49 AM »
One last point- how many people did terrible on the SATs or ACTs but still dominated college?  Many, I would think.  I scored a 1230 on the LSAT but did very well at a T25 large public undergrad.  I'm not trying to boast (cough cough, LSAT=157) but rather to make the argument that there are ways around the LSAT that adcomms really should start seeking in order to avoid cutting out great students.

That, and I'm bitter that I didn't score higher on the LSAT  ;D

1120 on the SAT, have a 4.0

got a 161 on the LSAT  :-\

Law School Admissions / Wrong School Name on Transcript
« on: January 27, 2006, 06:42:13 AM »
I was going over my transcripts today and noticed that the wrong college name was on my transcript; West Virginia State instead of WVU where I went.

Anyway, I know it's not  HUGE deal, but I've already been complete at all my schools since the end of Nov. and I of course wrote WVU on all the apps, so it'll be inconsistent.  LSAC said they'd look into it, but in the mean time I was wondering if I should contact all the schools that I've applied to in order to notify them of the error?? :-\

Related q- Do you have to inform them you are retaking?  I took the LSAT in Oct. and was considering retaking in Feb primarily for getting in off waitlists (if I do better....)  But I've been complete since end of November and don't want to hold up my apps.  Would it be ok not to say anything and just let the score be sent along?

Law School Admissions / Re: How obvious is the mistake in this sentence?

Man, you're looking way, way, way too far into this.  I seriously doubt anyone will ever notice this, or even care that it is an error of some form.  Seriously, the sentence looks fine.  What are you doing going over the stuff you already submitted anyway- what good does that do?

Best of luck with the application proccess, just chill a bit  ;)

Studying for the LSAT / Ok to try again?
« on: December 19, 2005, 07:31:40 PM »
I took the LSAT in Oct and was dissapointed in my score, but I have a high gpa so I went ahead an applied to schools anyway, and am complete at most schools at this point.  I wrote an addendum about how standardized testing isn't my thing (I also had a low SAT)

I'm expecting to get waitlisted at a lot of schools (I already have one deferral).  So I was considering taking the test again in February for the following reasons;
-If I do better I might get off some waitlists
-If I do better I might reapply next cycle
-If I don't do better I'll know to suck it up and go to the lower
ranked schools that accept me this cycle

My question is; is it ok to try again on the LSAT after I wrote an addendum that I'm not great at standardized testing?  I mean the truth is I'm not, but if I do better does that make me look like a liar?

Thanks for your help and opinions!

Good post!  Destroys all hopes :)  Good luck to all, I think this issue has been settled.

Yeah, except there's a little bit of a teaser- everyone who has said they got the e-mail I could totally see being admitted ;) (myself excluded)
