Choosing the Right Law School / What should I do?
« on: October 20, 2006, 04:22:29 PM »
I got my BA(Hons) from UofT in history. My overall GPA is 3.74 but for my last 2 years I had a 3.92. I am currently in grad. school. I wrote the lsat in Sept. 2005 and got a 154-- I didnt take a course and studied on my own for a month. On the test I got 1 wrong on the long reading and only 7 right on the logical games (mainly due to a panic attack). Should I apply to a tier 3/4 school with the lsat that I have or re-write...keep in my I HATE the LSAT with a passion.

GPA 3.64 (Top Public Canadia)
LSAT 154

I want to go to a school somewhere in either the Great Lakes regions (Michigan perhaps) or New England. A nice campus would be nice  and low tuition for non-residents.

Thanks everyone!

Here's the thing...

I got a 154...Bad, as I was going for a 160.  BUT here is my score breakdown...

2 Wrong on RC
16 wrong on LG
the rest you can figure out.

I had a panic attack during the games and only finished 12, got half right (after the initial panic of game 1, I got everything right on the light-swtich game).  so it's not like I sucked all around- and I have done well on the games in practice.

Call and ask a general question AS IF your score had already come in TODAY.  If they get all shocked and say stuff like, "score were not relseased today" we will at least know.

Just got my score.  Although it did not come with a conversion chart, so I don't know where to check that, if anyone can tell me how to do it, I'll be happy to. Also, I should note that LSAC has processed my stuff quickly before (reference letters...etc.).  Keep checking everyone and good luck!

Law School Admissions / Drexel? Worth it?

The school is not accredited yet.  This board gets more action than the 'where should I go' one...
28,000 tuition (with over 80% of students getting scholarships of 7000 plus).

The school will cost 28,000 a year, but says that it will give large tuition cuts to students who go.  I think it's worth it, in fact, sounds like a really good soon to be school.  What do people think their numbers will be this year. And is it worth taking the risk (reminds me of Ave Maria...)

With them getting ABA apr. what should their numbers jump up to? Is a huge jump expected?

Studying for the LSAT / Sorry to be even asking this question...

Studying for the LSAT / I need help/advice

Ok (here goes)...

My first ever timed practice was a 151.  3 weeks later I was hitting 155-162 (mostly 159).  My goal is a 155 and my dream score is a 160...but I am also really, really worried that I got in the 140s.  For one, I only finished 2 games (guessing 3 and 4) and during the first game I got a panic attack and think I got all wrong. This leaves me with about 6 correct on the LG (which is a score I tended to get on the practices anyways (6-12 range).  The RC I felt was harder than average but I finished it early (perhaps rushed??).  The LR was also hard, but I finish 4 and 3 minutes early respectively (butperhaps made careless errors because I rushed).  Is it realistic to think that my overall score will be below 150 or am I just being a drama queen?
