Hi everybody,

I've been invited by my ugrad to give a short presentation on the law school application process, and I'm not sure what to talk about.

I was going to do a general overview of applications and the LSAT, but then I thought, 'Why do they need to hear this from me? This stuff's all over the internet'. Plus, the time constraint doesn't give me enough time to talk about that much.  :-\

So! I'm trying to narrow down a few topics to talk about in depth, and I thought I would ask you LSDers what you think would be good topics. What would people just beginning their apps be curious about? What kind of things do you wish you'd known about when you were beginning your apps?

(It was only 8 months ago that I began prepping for law school, but now that I'm done, for the life of me I can't remember what I didn't know back then)

All replies appreciated. Thanks! :D

i'll be borrowing almost every penny i spend in law school (aagggghh) so i'm estimating my total debt at around 150K. maybe more. oh god.    *starts hyperventilating*

how's everyone else's potential debt looking?

Law School Admissions / Anyone Still Waiting on Yale?
« on: March 12, 2008, 07:34:01 PM »
anybody else still waiting for a decision from yale? i went complete in early january and haven't heard anything since then. should i just assume it's a ding? :'(    (getting nervous from the sudden flood of dings on lsn)

i know, annoying post, right? can't help it--the cycle just doesn't feel complete without a decision from yale. *sigh*

Law School Admissions / when do they notify you of scholarship offers?
« on: January 07, 2008, 02:55:24 PM »
do scholarship offers always come with the acceptance letters, or do they come later separately?

a busy professor will be annoyed at being asked to write *another* LOR, and send in one that's not so great?

not necessarily an openly negative one saying "this student sucks," but something lukewarm and blah that tells the admissions council that the prof doesn't give a sh*t about you.

Not that I'm planning on my recommenders making mistakes and not sending in the L3 form etc., but I was just wondering if it's ever happened to anyone.

'Tis the season for irrational LS application-related fears. Tralala.
