hi all,

i'm a pre-1L (starting fall 2005) and have been reading PLS II, though i haven't started doing any of the prep work suggested yet.  before i invest a lot of time and money into it, i was hoping to get feedback from the current students on this side of LSD, now that you all have grades back to tell you how well you did.

so, who followed PLS, and how did it go?  and would you mind also telling me where you go to school (or at least some sort of ranking if you're trying to be anonymous)?  i ask that because someone just told me that PLS works really well for tier 2 and below, but not as well for higher ranked schools that are more academic.  comments on any and all of these topics, and anything else you deem relevant, are highly appreciated!

thank you muchly,

please suggest furniture stores.  i've found a bunch of stuff i like at ikea, which suits my budget.  however, i have no idea where to buy my mattress (i know exactly which mattress i'm getting but want to know which stores are the most willing to negotiate and will deliver and install for free) or my area rug (i don't really like the ones at ikea; i am happy to sacrifice quality for a low price, as long as it'll last three years and, most importantly, be aesthetically pleasing).  any other recommendations (e.g., for decorations) are welcome.

thanks!  :)

hi all!

my friend is looking for colleges for her son that have some non-coed dorms.  it's fine if some dorms are coed, as long as there are some that are all boys'.  i had trouble finding a list on google, so i was hoping that you all could just post something informative for any schools with which you're familiar.  i'll start:

UCI has one all-girls dorm, but no all-boys dorm.

(thanks for your help! :) )

does anyone check your school ID going into powell library?  if so, i don't suppose you know whether an ID from a different UC school would suffice...

Incoming 1Ls / quote from a law school graduation
« on: May 18, 2005, 09:50:55 AM »
i heard this at western state's graduation last weekend and thought it was cute:

A University of Virginia Law School professor said to a graduating class, "Three years ago, when asked a legal question, you could answer, in all honesty, 'I don't know.' Now you can say with great authority, 'It depends.'"

i don't feel like bumping a month-old thread, so...

got my rejection letter last week (saw it last night when i got home from vacation).  will update LSN at work tomorrow.  was hoping for a WL so i could have a rejection-free season.  oh well.  :)
