Financial Aid / Student Budget
« on: July 19, 2007, 07:27:35 PM »
So my school has an out of state student budget of $41,000 and tuition and fees (not including books) is $29,000. How on earth do I live with a wife and two kids on $12,000 when I have to pay for books and Misc. expenses and the cheapest apartment I can find is $600 a month? There has to be a way to get around the school's budget. Anyone know a lender that does this that isn't through the roof in interest rates?

I have decided on a list of the schools I am going to apply to. Well, I might drop one or two and one or two depending on the feedback that I get.I have a 3.63 GPA, and a messed up the LSAT with a 144... I posted about this about a week ago. I am retaking the LSAT, but doubt to see much improvement as I go to school full time, work full time, and take care of a family of three with one on the way. If I end up earning what my practice tests say then it won't be less then a 158, but I am not banking on anything. I have some solid work experience, and a terrific personal statement with strong extras. I just do bad on standarized tests; I got a 20 on the ACT. So with all that background... tell me what my chances are at these schools:

Seattle U.
Willamette
Missouri (Missouri Resident.)
Missouri-Kansas City
St. Louis
William Mitchell
St Thomas (MN)
Indiana-Indianapolis
Gonzaga
McGeorge
Northeastern
Franklin Pierce
Marquette
Pittsburgh

Thanks in advance. No flames please.. I know in included reaches, but I believe you should shoot for the best possible scenario.

Law School Admissions / Speeding Tickets?
« on: October 26, 2006, 07:43:34 PM »
Are you suppose to write an addendum for something as trivial as a speeding ticket? This seems like bullocks to me. Who cares as long as I didn't lose my license?

Studying for the LSAT / Bombed... is there hope?
« on: October 22, 2006, 03:43:32 PM »
Well I got a 144 on my LSAT. My lowest non-cheating timed LSAT during practice was 158. I have a problem when I take standarized testing. I just can't do it when it counts. I am retaking in December. However, if I do not do much better is there any hope for me?

My GPA is 3.63 and I have a lot of community service and work experience. My dream is to go to law school and become a lawyer. I really want to make that happen. I know some of you that have nothing else do with your lives will flame and say mean things, but I am talking to the few who might like to help.

I would like to end up in Seattle after law school. Seattle U was where my target was going to be, but I am not sure I can get in there now. Any suggestions on what to do or where to apply? Thanks.
