Incoming 1Ls / Cambridge/Boston Realtors?
« on: April 08, 2008, 08:54:16 AM »
I'm starting to look for housing in or near Cambridge, and there are a trillion realtors on Harvard's list of realtors, but I have no idea which are good and which are not, and the housing office cannot make recommendations.  Does anyone have a realtor they'd recommend for rentals in or near Cambridge?

Law School Admissions / Stanford come ON! (said nicely and politely)
« on: March 28, 2007, 05:08:39 PM »
Sigh....almost 7 months since applying and I've heard nothing since my complete notice in October...

in case you're still waiting at Stanford, I talked to Admissions, and they said most applicants will receive decisions back by April 30.

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Michigan ASW - Take 2
« on: March 07, 2007, 05:35:54 PM »
OK so here's the thread for the 2nd ASW for Michigan.

Here are the people attending, I think:

jd2bee, mpark, Clean Watifah, LawSchoolIsEvil (?), rtqw, jtneely12, Bouzie, EE

Shuttle info for Thursday arrivals:

So far, the 11:30 shuttle is:
Jd2bee + guest

According to for 3 passengers a shuttle would be $42.  Does anyone remember how much a cab is?

Is that right?  Everyone want to post their arrival and departure times on this thread so it's all together and we can figure out transportation?  Also, when would be best to do an LSD get-together.

Law School Admissions / Not that I WANT a Yale rejection but...
« on: February 08, 2007, 09:01:26 AM »
It's going to happen any day now, right?  Anyone nervous?

Last year, rejections started coming out a week ago...granted, this year acceptances were also late, but is anyone else nervous for the imminent flood of rejections that will soon be upon us?

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Bringing SOs to ASW
« on: January 05, 2007, 07:29:16 AM »
OK, I apologize if this is a topic that's been discussed ad infinitum.  I really did search past threads and didn't see TOO much on it.  I'm thinking of bringing the significant other to ASWs because there's always a possibility that I won't be moving on my own.  I know that people do this, so that's not crazy.  But, what things do people bring the SOs to?  Just tour and maybe social events?  Or nothing at all?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Harvard Email Address

Come on, keep it real. You know you've done it...

Law School Admissions / Michigan Darrow
« on: December 06, 2006, 07:50:08 AM »
Anyone else get the invite to apply for the Darrow at Michigan?  I know the requested essay is like an amalgamation of the essays I've already written, and 500 words is pretty short for what they're asking for.  Anyway, good luck to all applying!

Law School Admissions / Dear Stanford
« on: November 22, 2006, 10:45:38 AM »
Now we at LSD know you are an incredible legal institution, standing head and shoulders against so many in the US. However, you can't let schools such as Michigan, Boalt, and Harvard one up you now, can you?  You know you want to start accepting people this week.  All the cool schools are doing it.  Just think of all the thanks you will be giving applicants around the country if you start admitting this week.  Oh, the joy that will befall them!

If you need some advice on particular applicants to start applying, I would be happy to help you out with those decisions.  You can start out with me, just to make sure that the whole admit process goes well, and we'll take it from there.  I love you, Stanford, and I want your awesome pre-Thanksgiving admit rep to continue.
