Studying for the LSAT / Prep Test 30, Game #3
« on: September 29, 2008, 07:28:45 AM »
I've been trying to figure out this game set-up for a few hours now, and nothing's working.  I'm sure it's something painfully obvious that I'm just not seeing.  It seems to be a fairly straight-forward Advanced Linear game, but I'm lost with how to set-up a clear and useful diagram, and the LGB hasn't been helpful for me on this one.

Can anyone help?  It's questions 11-16, the one about cars and the different kinds of washes.  (I'd be happy to PM the full rules set-up to someone if they can help out, I just wasn't sure it would be a good idea to post it here.)

If anyone can give me some hints on how to diagram, I'd really appreciate it!  Thanks!

Law School Admissions / Acad. Prob. Addendum Readers?

Hey everyone!  Anyone willing to give some honest feedback on an academic probation addendum?  Any help would be much appreciated ;)

Law School Admissions / Addendum format
« on: July 15, 2008, 07:51:39 PM »
I recently read a GPA addendum for a poster and they put it in the form of a letter to the school.  Considering that this person is applying ED to the school, I think it definitely personalizes the addendum and was a nice touch.  But, I've always seen them in a more straight-forward way: titled "GPA Addendum" or whatever, a few hard returns, and then the text.

I'm wondering what people think for general GPA/academic probation addenda- should it be in the form of a letter?

Anyone else having a really hard time coming up with a topic?  It's driving me nuts that I can't come up with anything.  I don't want to do the "I want to go to law school because..."  What are you guys doing to figure out what to write about?

Sorry in advance if this has been asked a thousand times before...

For those of you that have been out of school for a bit, are you thinking about adding a recommendation from an employer to have a more recent LOR?  I already have two LOR's on file with the LSDAS, but I've been out of UG for a year and am wondering if I should have my supervisor write one for a more recent perspective.  Problem is, his writing skills are atrocious!  Even though he's very fond of me and the sentiment would be there, I'm afraid a really poorly written LOR could hurt more than it would help.  Would you guys worry about not having one from the same year as the app cycle?

Incoming 1Ls / Piercings on law students
« on: June 26, 2008, 02:13:17 PM »
I'm sure it varies school to school, but I'm wondering if profs are conservative enough to penalize (maybe subconsciously) those that have piercings?  I'm sure there are LS students with piercings/tattoos, do you feel you may have been seen as less credible because of it?  I have my nose pierced, but always wear a very tiny crystal stud.  Side note: I'd never wear it to an interview and will probably take it out before my first job as a lawyer.

Law School Admissions / Those of you that got full rides...

Some questions for you, if you would be so kind to answer:

1. What school offered the $$?
2. Where did your LSAT/GPA or index fall in relation to the school's?
3. Did you have amazing soft factors/what were they?
4. What other factors may have helped you (connections to the school, URM status, etc.)?
5. Did you end up taking the $$, or did you go somewhere more prestigious with less scholarship/none at   all?
6. How early did you apply?

I'm just trying to get a handle on how schools offer full scholarships (and, hoping like hell that I can pull one off!).  Thanks in advance!

For those of you doing prep on your own, what does your study schedule look like?  Are you planning on doing a certain number of tests per week?
