Transferring / HELP! Unaccredited Tier7 or Yale Law School?!
« on: July 17, 2007, 10:09:57 AM »
What do I do everyone?  I'm number 1 in my class, and law review at South Fork Eastern Law School in Maui, Hawaii, unaccredited but way fun, and now I've been accepted at Yale Law School and I don't know what to do?  I'm at the top of my class so I'll probably have opportunities here at South Fork, HELP!  Do you think BIGLaw or SCOTUS would rather top of the class?  I need everyone's advice on this one.

Transferring / Columbia v. NYU

In at both, your thoughts on which, and why?  I'm leaning toward NYU (better area, amazing school, happens to be ranked higher but either way top5 school).

Current Law Students / Which Schools are (mostly) Pass/Fail?
« on: June 28, 2007, 01:14:21 PM »
Wondering which law schools do mostly pass/fail, at least for 2nd and 3rd year of school.  I know Yale, but where else?  Some schools only allow a student to take 1 or 2 pass/fail classes during all of law school.

Thanks.

Transferring / Stanford v. Columbia/NYU

If in at all 3, any thoughts on choosing. In the rankings, it's 3,4,5, so could it possibly make any difference which you went to?

And, is Harvard really just clearly above and if you get in you go there over either 3?

Looking for advice.  Thanks.

Current Law Students / Odds for Harvard, NYU, Stanford, Columbia?
« on: June 05, 2007, 10:28:39 PM »
I have a 3.93 at Top50 (on a 3.0 forced curve). Several CALI Highest Grade Awards; Law Review; and lots of excellent work experience pre-law and great recommendation letters.

Realistically, with a fairly weak UGPA (2.9), what are my odds transferring?  I'm assuming UGPA isn't too relevant in light of everything else, but ya never know.  My Rank will likely be in the Top 3-5 Students in the whole class.

Odds anyone?  Applied to Harvard; NYU; Stanford, and Columbia.

Transferring / Top 3 in class at Top40 or Harvard - Which is better?
« on: June 02, 2007, 01:52:09 PM »
Just found out grades and with my grades, I could easily be number 1,2, or 3 at my school (a Top 40 - very close to 40).  I'm totally debating now whether it's better to be in that position and Law Review (I graded on), or to transfer to Harvard, Columbia if I get in (Any idea if I'll get in? I didn't do great undergrad at all?).

What are the merits?  I assume I could get a job at any firm in NYC or LA (only places I want to be) with my position at my current school, so why would it matter?

Advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.
