Current Law Students / Oil and Gas?
« on: April 03, 2007, 08:54:53 PM »
Will this course confine my future practice area to oil and gas area, such as the central of the states?  Thanks!

I am always wondering this question. Had I known the importance of the law school rank, I would wait and retake lsat at any cost. But lsat is only a paper test set in limited time, the advantage gained by these lsat high achievers or early starters of their law related performance such as in lsat really far outweighs the actual talents that they might possess in this career.

Has anyone found statics that those from top law schools make themselves top lawyers?

Job Search / What do these rejection letters mean?
« on: December 27, 2006, 06:47:21 PM »
What rejection letter means?

I received a bunch of rejection letters from biglaw for summer internship last semester. Really disheartened seriously. But it is normal, I think.

However some of them do express interest in me and said they just don't have suitable opening currently and will retain my resume and contact me in case of change. Do I have hope?? Even a glimpse of hope?

Also if they encourage me to apply for associate position directly after graduation, are they just being polite and courtesy or I have a good shot on it?

Thanks and would like to listen to some advice.

Hi, I am considering which school is better for transferring. Will UB get me better chance to pass New York Bar and land a job in New York? I intend to practice international law after graduation. Thanks all!

Current Law Students / torts question
« on: December 16, 2005, 08:20:12 PM »
1) If a neighbor was watching fire of defendant's house, will the defendant be liable for negligence for the neighbor's death because of the fire?

2) If the plaintiff was injured by defendant's neglience, the defendant will be liable for doctor's negligence on plaintiff.
Under rescurer doctrine or provided doctor's negligence is foreseeable?

3)If Jack offer a ride to mary, and Jack later negligently crashed into a tree, causing injury to mary. Will mary be able to sue Jack for negligence?

I have just finished my torts exam, those questions plagued me and I want to know the answer.
