Pursuing an LLM / foriegn GPA average
« on: November 10, 2004, 03:43:50 AM »
The Fulbright program has a conversion chart for foreign lawyers. Using this to convert my law grades to a US GPA I calculated that over the course of my law degree my GPA was 3.16 and for my final year was 3.85. I want to apply for an LLM program in the US. How would I measure up with these grades ?  A lot of prospectuses I have looked at mention that foreign grads need to have obtained their JD equivalent with "high standing" or words to that effect. Any schools I should focus on ? Any schools which I should rule out automatically ?

Pursuing an LLM / Re: environmental/natural resources llm

thanks. my preference is to study in the states. having lived in london for a few years now, the chance to study somewhere else is appealing. in applying to american llm courses, can relevant career experience  offset less than stellar law achool grades?

Pursuing an LLM / environmental/natural resources llm
« on: October 16, 2004, 11:06:52 AM »
Hi, I am a foreign nat. resources lawyer working in the UK. I'm looking for some help with the following questions:
How well is the denver llm in nat resources and environmental regarded in the US/internationally?
Anyone know someone who has been accepted into this course/or is at denver law school?
How tough is it to get into compared with other similar llm programmes, eg Tulane, Lewis and Clark, U. of Houston, or Vermont?
I'm looking to enroll in an llm to start in August 2005, but can't seem to find much info on these programmes. I'd be grateful for any advice or useful links.
cheers
Slim

Today I work on arranging my office furnuiture. I wanna make sure my computer security sys. is healthy and ready.  I need a few more food Items for my gourmet kitchen on a grad school budget.  I'm meeting up with some 1L's tonight for introductions.  I may take a day trip somewhere - I only have 2 days left of vacation. :'(  2 days untill my new life adventure begins. 8)

Orientation starts on the 21st.  Yea MF that's right, 1L heya!

I have handmade leather shoes from the Mediterranean...

I got then while on military deployment.  They were dirt cheap.  The dude measured my feed and had the shoes ready 1 week later.

the chick lost me when she tried to take the pasta out of the trash....unforgivable and a little unnerving that she even contemplated it, like maybe chefs actually do that kind of thing
You've never worked in a restaurant, have you?  There's much worse going on back there.

I didn't see what you're talking about but yea that the kind of thing I try not to think about when I go out.
