I am still on the waitlist at Hofstra and was wondering if anyone has heard anything or if anyone has gotten off the waitlist recently?

From what I have heard the people left on the waitlist at Suffolk, are all qualified to attend the law school.  It's a matter now of showing them how much you want to go to Suffolk.  Persistence at this school pays off.  I just got off the waitlist.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Tier 4 law school, or reapply?
« on: July 26, 2004, 12:50:22 PM »
My masters program is in the city I currently live in now, philadelphia.  It's a flexable program, I was going to take a leave of absense and go to law school and then come back and finish the masters.
But the only school I got into is in boston and I want to practice law in the philadelphia area.  I don't know if it is worth it to go to a tier 4 law school in boston when I want to work back in philadelphia.  No matter how well I do at the law school I am concerned about getting a good job back in philadelphia.
Which is why I am considering finishing the masters program and reapplying.

Choosing the Right Law School / Tier 4 law school, or reapply?
« on: July 26, 2004, 08:59:56 AM »
So the only law school I was accepted at is a tier 4 school in an area of the country I don't plan on living after law school.

I was waitlisted at seven schools.  I have one more year of a masters program to complete and I will earn my masters in political science.

I don't know if I should begin at the tier 4 school and try to transfer and possibly risk being at the tier 4 school for three years. Or if I should complete my masters and reapply?  Any advise would be greatly appriciated!

Choosing the Right Law School / Transfering

How difficult is it to transfer?  I was only accepted to a tier 4 school and am trying to decide if I should attend.  I am not at all happy about attending this school and the thought of being stuck there for three years, if I can't transfer, makes me sick to my stomach.  Please let me know if anyone has any good advice!

Minority and Non-Traditional Law Students / Re: LOW LSAT Score
« on: July 19, 2004, 04:21:04 PM »
Yes, I am that person that has been trying to get into law school for the past two years.  I too have a very low LSAT score.  Through the process of studying for and taking the LSAT I was tested and learned that I have a learning disability.  I retook the LSAT with additional time and raised my score ten points.  Yet, although I achieved a score in the mid 150's it has not been enough to get me into law school.
I went to a top 20 liberal arts school, graduated with a 3.3, then did a year of a masters program and achieved a 3.5 GPA, and I still can not get into anything above a tier four school.  I too have excellent recommendations, etc.  Botton line people, if you want to get into law school, find a way to raise your LSAT score because the sad reality is that it is all any of the schools seem to care about.

Was just wondering how many people were on the waitlist still at Seton Hall?  And if you are on the waitlist was just wondering if you were also willing to be considered for the part time programs as well.  Please keep me posted!

I called Hofstra and they informed me that they were just begining to re-review the waitlist

I have not gotten any sort of letter from them since they informed me that I was waitlisted.  Anyone have any idea how many people are left on the waitlist?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / When are deposits due?

For those of you who have been accepted to various schools, could you share with everyone when your deposits are due so we have some ideas of when a school may go to their waitlist.  As for me I am interested in learning when Seton hall, hofstra, and syracuse deposits are due.  please share if you know!  thank you!!
