Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Columbia "Reserves"
« on: July 19, 2004, 11:08:03 AM »
I too just got another letter asking me to remain in the reserve category.  I wonder how many people are left on the list.  I don't think people are updating on LSN so there's no way to gage it I guess.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Error in USNews ranking?

This is probably old news by now, but the reason for the University of Washington's slip in the US News ratings last year was that they sent in the wrong percentage for the number of students employed 9 months after graduation.  It should be 95% not 75%.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Relocating for Admission

I don't know about other state schools, but the University of Washington tries to have about 70% of the accepted students be from in state.  So in this sense, moving here and gaining residency is probably a good way to improve your chances of getting in.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Davis Waitlist
« on: April 26, 2004, 01:06:19 PM »
I'm waitlisted at Davis.  When I called, they told me that 600 people are on the wait list (!)

I would love to see the text of anyone's waitlisted/ass-kissing letter.  I'm having writer's block.

I'm waitlisted at UC-Davis also and when I called them they said that they waitlist about 600 people and in recent years have admitted between 5 and 25 people.  I have no idea why they waitlist so many people.
