Deferred EA, just changed to decision without access to admitted students site. I am very bitter. Feel free to send me a private message if you want to vent about not getting into a school. I will be happy to commiserate and talk sh*t.

Transferring / RD Decisions 2009
« on: June 25, 2009, 07:40:06 PM »
The following schools have begun sorting though their transfers (i.e. we've seen acceptances and/or rejections):

Personally I know:

Berkley (6/25)
Wake Forest (6/22)
U Alabama (6/15)

Yahoo also shows: UVA, Duke, and Miami. Can anyone confirm?

Add schools I didn't mention:

Wash U EA sent admit emails on May 1 and required seat deposits by June 1.

Transferring / Top School v. Top-Off Student Loans
« on: June 18, 2009, 08:20:53 PM »
First note, I have a ton of loans already from undergrad and 1L, but despite a %75 scholarship I am definitely transferring.  So….

Is it better to go to a #30 school that cost $25,000/year (+living) for the nest two year... Or is it worth shelling out $45,000/year (around $120,000 for two years ) -- twice the price -- to go to a top 20 school (i.e. Emory or Vanderbilt)? What about the same high price for Duke or UMich?

Essentially, is it worth taking out an extra $60,000 in student loans to have a better name on my J.D?

Transferring / Deferred from GULC EA
« on: June 17, 2009, 09:16:28 PM »
Has anyone who was deferred from GULC EA recieved a final decision? My Spring grades were recieve by GULC on Monday and I haven't heard anything?

Also, will this round of decisions come by email or the usual tortured-while-you-wait post?

I applied for both the full- and part-time program. Again, anyone the chances and requirements to beat a deferral?

Letter today in nc. Deferred. 4.0/#1 at a T4. Anyone know what they look for on deferral? What the likelyhood of an acceptance is?

Hi everyone,

I just got into GULC and I attend a top 50 school.  I am top of my class right now but who knows what will happen this semester.  I do not really want to apply to other schools so my question is this:
I am top of my class at the top 50 AND on Law Review.  In terms of Fall OCI and getting a solid SA position, what looks better?  The top 50 school on law review of my grades with the top 50 school and law review ON MY RESUME and attending GULC.  Any advice would be appreciated.  I want to work in DC.

transfer if you don't mind the move.

Bad news for those still waiting.  I got my deferral letter today, dated and mailed yesterday.  Still complete online.

Sorry for the bad news.

Needless to say I won't be joining any of ya'll at GULC.   Best of luck to everyone!

What are your stats? Were do you live? And what are the chances on deferral, is it conditional?

I don't have access to the site so I called today and they told me they mailed my decision yesterday. What does that mean? And why hasn't anyone else had any activity?
