Job Search / Re: Anyone interview for the DOJ Honors Program?

I also heard the DOJ liases with the NSA regarding all the text messages you've sent in the last 2 years. Food for thought.

Make the government sorry for what they did when they gave you the loans in the first place and declare bankruptcy.

If you're one of those people, who like, is all about conquest, and not about the actual substance of new experiences, you might as well finish so you can hold it over your children's head that mommy's got a JD collecting dust in the attic.

Current Law Students / Re: lack of motivation in 2L
« on: November 03, 2008, 03:02:28 PM »
Basically, the lack of motivation results from the fact that the second 2 years of law school are wastes of time, because you now speak "legal" and can learn/research everything you need to know after the first year, so, get ready to be bored for the next two years.

I don't really know anyone I go to school with, and I like it that way. That way they won't talk to you when you show up to class/exams early, and they for sure won't impose upon you or ask you any favors. Thank God for that.  ;D

You probably got rejected because none of the people you met with wanted to work with you.  8)

Job Search / Re: Rescinding Offers
« on: November 01, 2008, 12:18:59 PM »
If an offer you had planned on accepting gets rescinded, I would file suit under the theory of promissory estoppel. That'd learn 'em. What's the benefit worth of having a 45 day window to accept an offer?

I say don't do it, because it will probably NOT get you a job at all -

Job Search / Re: dinner
« on: October 07, 2008, 12:07:08 PM »
You always get a crack at dinner at a callback.

If you didn't, it's probably because of some administrative error on the firm's part.

Some firms don't ask students who go to school in the same city to dinner because they figure you can just make do at your apartment, while for students who have to fly in might like a bite to eat before hitting the hotel.

6 callbacks - 3 offers - 1 no offer - 2 outstanding

Not bad eh? And here's the funniest part, the "no offer" was a total hatchet job on my part.
