Title: BU Dean Criticized
Post by: Andrew on March 03, 2004, 08:52:50 AM
Silence speaks to BU's lack of accountability (http://www.boston.com/news/education/higher/articles/2004/03/02/silence_speaks_to_bus_lack_of_accountability/)

Any thoughts?

Yep it works now.

Two comments

1) If I were building a building for a law school I don't think I'd want it called the tower.  You think they'll paint it ivory in case someone misses the message?

2) Is it reasonable to expect law school deans to be better than laywers in ethical areas or in areas of communication with the public?  The lesson to students is clear.

Interesting read...

I run by the BU Law Tower (aka, the Death Star) every morning.  That place is ugly as hell and sticks out like a sore thumb along the Charles.  Judging from the exterior of the building, I'm not surprised that the facilities are lacking.

It's not so bad inside.  The 1L classrooms are really nice and there are nice views from the upper floors.  The biggest problem really is that the building doesn't faciliate much of a community.  The elevator is the most social place, and because the elevators are crap, the stairwell is where any community announcements are posted.
