Title: Marino Bar Review or Themis
Post by: rickiscool on April 24, 2020, 10:37:34 AM
Hi all, new to the forum. I just got my results from the last bar exam and I failed again ,  this time by more than the last time. Very frustrated as this is the 3rd time I have taken it. I have tried both Barbri and Kaplan now and neither worked for me. My new girlfriend recommended a course that's for students repeating the exam called the Retaker Course and she said it really worked for her. I want to give it a try but another friend of mine said to try themis, as he took it for the first time he took the exam and he liked it. Anyone have any experience with the Marino Retaker Course or with Themis?

I have heard decent things about Themis and it is certainly much more affordable than courses like Barbri and Kaplan, which is the draw it has for most exam takers. If it is the same quality as Barbri for example, why pay twice as much? In your case however, I have to recommend looking into Marino Bar Review. I took the exam a couple of years ago, was not successful on my first try with Barbri, then actually tried ti study on my own the second time before a friend of mine recommended Marino, which I went with and I have to credit it with improving my score by 32 points and getting me to pass. It is a different type of program than a first time course, it focuses more on teaching strategies that help you to know what to do on a question even when you're clueless about the law that's being tested. I would say as a retaker you should go with Marino, but first I would call both Themis and Marino to see yourself what you think about their  features.
