Title: POSSIBLE RANKINGS HOAX
Post by: 1LMan on March 27, 2008, 05:10:10 AM
Could the most recent release be the most elaborate Hoax in US News Rankings history?

One poster on Xoxo.com discusses how Wash. U's LSAT numbers are slightly off.  I, too, noticed that GW's numbers don't mesh up with what is listed on LSAC, nor with what was sent out to alumni by the Dean.

Hmmmmm.  Elaborate hoax?  Maybe US News decided to have a little fun this year and leaked a few "advanced" copies....

It's not a hoax, I went to Books a million yesterday and bought a copy.  The rankings are correct.

Eh, not so bad I guess.  Still a waste if you ask me considering there is nothing on there you can't find on the net for free.

Nice acceptances so far.  UVA is a great place to be, though if you get in Penn I'd be all over it.  Surprised that Vandy waitlisted you.

It actually had a few decent article in the front about debt and financing your education, the different types of loans and some tips on different things you might try to keep your debt down.

I am going to the UVA ASD tomorrow and then Emory's next weekend.  I doubt I have a shot at Penn but I certainly hope Duke lets me in, even though my husband is a diehard UNC fan he would still like to move down there so he could see the unc games, plus houses is TONS cheaper than c'ville

Isn't duke's tuition much higher?  I would go to UVA over duke any day.  I really think Duke over UVA would be a bad decision.

Yes, duke's tuition is much higher especially because I get instate tuition at UVA.  I would still visit the campus and consider it though.  Loans can always be paid back... I'm used to living like a poor person, So after I get out I work big law for a couple of years and live modestly like I do now then the debt won't really be a problem.

JAWILLIAMSON, can you please provide a copy of the third and fourth tier schools?

Its hard to believe that after 70 some years that Southwestern is now 4th Tier, and behind Chapman.

Thanks!

Why'd you buy a copy?
