Title: Wondering where the Apprentice lawyers/law students went to school?
Post by: TDPookie1 on October 03, 2004, 01:44:22 AM
in case anyone else was wondering where the apprentice lawyer candidates went to law school...

stacy r. went to brooklyn law school (after honors at columbia?  does that seem odd to anyone?):

kevin went to wharton undergrad, emory MBA, and now chicago law school:
http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/person.php?p=139

not a lawyer/law student, but raj went to BC and wears bowties.  not sure where lexy's dad went to law school, but he wears bowties and lives in the boston area:
http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/person.php?p=142

bradford (who stupidly gave up his immunity), went to a fourth tier law school.  maybe at a higher ranked law school, they would have taught him to hang on to his advantage when he has it:
http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/person.php?p=131

jennifer m. went to princeton (insert list of honors here) and harvard law school:
http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/person.php?p=136

kelly (guy) is getting a JD/MBA at UCLA:

john is totally hot:

Which one is the girl who broke down and cried this last episode?  Jennifer?  The one who Trump said was a horrible leader, but fired Stacy J any ways.  Is she on your list of lawyers?

I need to remember that guy from UCLA going for a MBA/JD.
If I could only have twenty years back, that's what I would do.   :'(

She's pretty too, and single  ;)  but needs to knock of that crying crap.

michigan's business school is #10 in USNews right now.  she is pretty.  i'm surprised business school didn't train her to deal with situations without crying.  you'd think with all the group projects and stuff you have to do, you'd be used to dealing with conflict.  just goes to show you how damn catty women are.  maybe she mostly worked with men, or just having men in their B-school group tamed the women.

lexy's dad went to bc too! harvard mba and uvm ba. in addition to wearing bow ties with flair, lexy's dad can sing (painfully badly) the flight song for just about any school you can think of.

ooh, i'm glad you found your way to this thread :)  raj was just for you, of course.  raj seems to be a lexy's-dad-in-training.  you should e-mail the link to your dad so he can see his apprentice.

That's crazy how awesome some of these people are on the Apprentice.  I'll be happy just to have a JD and work for a decent law firm.

lexy's dad is the man!

Lexy, I did not know your dad had an MBA too.  I think a lot of us could learn from him if you talk about him more.  I know people don't agree with me, and the JD/MBA degree (I don't know if your dad did this at the same time or not) always impress me.  If for only the fact that a JD wanted to start as a sole practioner, his/her MBA would help run his business, rather than others who don't have a business background, and won't do anything but work for someone else.  What does he do now?  Retired?  Does he work for a large practice?  Was/is he practicing law currently?  What is his speciality?  Basically, I wuld like to see his resume online  ;D  Does he like the law better, what field, does/did he use his MBA to benefit him in any way?  I know you think I am odd, but I have complete respect for older people who have accomplished many things, I think your dad might be one of them.  We can all learn from people like this.  Spill it Lexy, It's not jkust me, a lot of people would be intersted.  Did he work so hard that you never went on vaction, and rarely saw him, or was he a family man first?  My dad, A CPA, no legal experience, was home at dinner at 6 sharp.  We all ate at six sharp.  If he had to stay late, he brought his work home with him.  I know a very successful man who never got to even know his own son because he was too involved with working 100 hours weeks.  Please do tell, of course everybody doesn't expect you to get too personal.

I understand women are more emotional than men, and in part, thet may be a good thing.  But she is also older (31) she needs to learn how to use those emotions to her advantage
not to her demise.  But wtf do I know.  (the last was rhetorical)

i think she should have learned to control her emotions long ago because you can't just break down crying when you're working with men; they'll look down on you.  she wasn't working with men in this task, but she's competing against men and being judged by them, so she should freaking toughen up.  and all those girls should stop giving my gender a bad name!  argh.

omg, you crack me up. he went right into the mba out of undergrad, which is pretty rare, and then decided after that he wanted to be an attorney. all of his work is corporate, so the degrees always complemented each other-- it wasnt an either/or like you imply. he was at his own firm for years, and then went in-house as GC for what was his biggest client. he is definitely both a workaholic and a family guy, which just means he doesnt sleep (works around the clock and then coaches our softball teams, mock trial teams, etc).

I don't know why people respect this man, Trump.  All his money is in real estate, and he inherited most of it.  He lost it all with the real estate bubble bursting in the late 80/s early 90's.  Let's see I have a ton of inherited property, my job is to manage these properties and start new adventures such as Trump Ice.  Is that the name for his bottled water
venture?  I have never seem his water in the stores.  Then the real estate market booms agsin, and he is now very wealthy.  His whole success is determined by outside factors he cannot control.  Puke on him.  I don't even want to know where he went to school, if he did.

Sounds like an awesome guy.  Family is very important to me, that is why I hate it when everybody says you have to put in 100 hours a week.  Yeah sure, maybe at first, but then you learn your priorities, I bet yor dad is far more of A role model than you have portrayed him.  Again, wtf do i know.  But I think I'm right on this one.

Besides, I got 4 lines from you.  ;D

i think he deserves a little more credit than you give him.  he still has to make good investment decisions, which isn't as easy as it sounds.  i work in a real estate development company right now, so i'm starting to learn more about this stuff.

SWIFTY, DON'T READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHERE TRUMP WENT TO SCHOOL:
he went to wharton, and his kids all went there (older boy, girl) or are going to go there (younger boy).

I think that guy Troy from last season should have one.  I didn't see him as a loose cannon.  The guy who did win is boring, has no personality and most likely cannot sell anything.  Troy, however could sell you a glass of sand in the dessert, and I don't see anything immoroal about him.  His mother was sick or something, and he took care of her at the same time built his own successful business.  He said he couldn't afford college, it was his mother or college.  Just goes to show you what people can do with natural ability.
I know it's not ALL about selling, but Troy had more drive and ambition, and pure raw talent than anyone else.

troy was my favorite from last season.  did you see that trump offered to pay for his college education?  that was pretty cool.

bill's position isn't one that requires selling.  he's in a supervisory roll; other people do the building, other people do the selling of the condos or whatever that they're building, etc.  his possible lack of sales skills don't necessarily hurt him in his position; he needs to have leadership skills, which apparently trump thought he had.  and i agree that bill did a better job than kwame, because kwame couldn't put people in their place when omarosa was sabotaging his task at the end.

No, I missed the part about Trump offering to pay for Troy's College.  Did he actually do it?  I doubt Troy would be interested.  There comes a point when you no longer need to learn.  I had this same problem when I went back to school.  Do I major in accounting, my easiest major, knowing they are not going to teach me anything that I haven't learned from the school of hard knocks, or try another field that I know nothing about?  You can't teach what Troy already posseses. I guess is what I am saying.

i agree that troy has skills beyond what you can learn in college, but there is still something for him to learn, whether it's analytical thinking skills, or other marketing/business skills, or just something totally random that he knows nothing about, just to broaden his knowledge.  the offer came when part of the cast and trump were all on larry king, i believe, and troy seemed floored about the offer and extremely grateful.  i want to google it and see what came of it.  even for people like troy with all his street smarts, there is still value in a college degree.

i guess he's going to college after all!  that's a wide variety of schools looking to recruit him.

Colleges Recruit 'Apprentice' Star Troy

Tue Oct 12, 2:06 PM ET   Entertainment - AP

BOISE, Idaho - Although Troy McClain was fired by Donald Trump during the first season of the NBC reality show "The Apprentice," that hasn't stopped several universities and colleges from recruiting him to star on their campuses.

AP Photo

McClain, who doesn't have a college degree, has been contacted by Boise State University, Columbia University and Albertson College of Idaho over the past six months. He's also received offers from Hollywood, his manager, Ed Moore, said recently.

Moore said McClain met with a Boise State academic counselor last week, but hasn't made a final decision. He needs to register by Dec. 2 to attend January classes.

During an appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live," Trump offered to send McClain to the college of his choice.

McClain, of Boise, has shot two TV pilots and is negotiating several other projects, Moore said.
