NYU is back to where it belongs, behind Columbia. Now lets hope it slides behind Berkeley, Chicago and Penn in the coming years. :) I am very satisfied!

Anybody else notice how the bottom of the T14 seems Lsat-heavy and gpa-light compared to the top? Maybe it's just cal making me feel this way...

Aren't these rankings for last year's cycle? So I dont understand how comments such as W&L's 3L curriculum change are relevant.

Boo to UChi dropping. Penn and Boalt aren't on their level.

Chicago drop to 7 = ex post facto result of losing Professor Obama to the senate in 2004 based on his present level of prestige.

I love how panicked people are about random fluctuations. If even clueless 0Ls can tell when they don't reflect reality, do you really think that hiring partner is going to say, "Well, we would hire you, but Chicago is only #7 this year"? (Not to mention the fact that new rankings will be out by the time you are looking for a job).

SLU Down - I heard some professors were leaving

Hofstra, Syracuse, Buffalo.. NYC is getting tougher by the minute.

Wow, I think the biggest change is Kent going from #60 to T3, unless someone forgot to put it down on the list.

For me, the rankings are a baseline indicator. For example, I'm currently trying to decide between Wake Forest and UF. If UF dipped again after having lost 6 points last year, that would have scared me off of UF, because it would have indicated an overall downward trend.

On the other hand, Wake dropping from 36 to 42 isn't shocking, because there was a huge block of 36 last year, which has been divided into 2 at 36, 4 at 38, and 2 at 42.

A dip like the one Davis took, from 34 to 44 is really huge.

I just think it goes to show that schools have no clue what's going to happen. FSU admins were bragging all over the ASD back on 02/22 about how we all needed to watch the US News rankings this year, because I believe they saw themselves not only breaking T1 (and I'm surprised they didn't, actually), but also eclipsing UF. They were quite smug about it too.

And holy s@%t @ in the time it took me to post this 10 new replies being posted.
