Franklin Pierce Law Center
« on: March 17, 2004, 07:00:06 PM »
I am interested in intellectual property and was wondering if anyone knows how good of a school is Franklin Pierce Law Center. USNews claims it is top three in IP. Does it have a good reputation??

FPLC supposedly has a good IP program, but I think they're a 3rd or 4th tier school.  That being said, it's probably better to go to a school with a lower ranked IP program but higher general ranking.

FYI below of IP rankings.

The thing with FPL might be that they have a strong program and are recognized by US News but their reach might be very low and restricted to the New England area as they are not really seen nationally most likely over other schools with better general rankings.

Franklin Pierce is a good IP school for students who have a background in science and engineering (BS, MS, PhDs) I have worked with some lawyers from there, and I was impressed.

If you don't have the science degree, I would, however, recommend going to Stanford, Harvard, or other higher ranked schools.

The rankings have changed since then. Franklin Pierce is now ranked 6th in IP I believe.
