Which Tier 1 schools are on the outs, and which are rising stars? I think we all can agree that GULC is on the outs (relatively) at the delight of Vandy and UCLA. I think Ohio State will surprise people in the coming years as it slowly rises in the rankings. This is more of a gut feeling, but it has risen slightly in the recent past nonetheless. Penn's star is also rising at the expense of NYU, which is probably overrated.
I think a really interesting factor is how the continuing demographic shift from North and East to South and West will play out in the supply/demand of law schools and colleges in general. Will U of Arizona become a prestigious public because of the billions of people that continue to move there, thus increasing in-state applicants, driving up admissions standards, etc. Ditto UNC? Texas? Or will this have no impact at all?
