1. UCLA=USC=Vandy=UT
2. BC=GWU=BU=UIUC==Fordham
3. Emory=WUSTL=UMinn=ND
4. UMinn=W&L=UWash

It really depends on your definition of "Biglaw."  The top half of these schools in big cities are going to have a good shot at making somewhere between 125 and 160k.

Some of these schools don't send a ton of their students to the largest firms because of their location... UMinn produces, I'm sure, a ton of great lawyers but there just aren't that many huge firms in the region.  Top grads might jet to Chicago, the top 20% might end up at Faegre or Dorsey, but other than that there just aren't that many huge firms.

Do you really think BC and BU are better than WUSTL and ND?

i wouldn't be surprised. there are actually quite a few Vault100 firms with their largest offices in Boston.

are better? no ... about the same, academics-wise ...but biglaw placement is better, yes ... geography!  The stats are there to prove it.

And not just East Coast geography, BU and BC place better on the West Coast as well, based on placement numbers at large firms.  WUSTL is obviously a good school and highly esteemed in the midwest, but the name doesn't carry nearly as well in major east coast cities, much less else where.  The name ND is known nationally, but not so much for law as for undergrad.
