Texas is a tremendous school.

I'm not saying that Texas will move up. I'm saying that Sager had tremendous success at NYU and I have more faith in him moving Texas up then I do in UCLA.

Texas has been in considerable decline over the past five years. The faculty exodus alone stands to hurt the ranking.

That is not to say they are a toilet but any assumption that they are on the ascendancy is totally premature.

Don't forget to add the size of the class. I can't see UT-Austin jumping Duke when the rankings favor the smaller schools.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but isn't the whole point of the "T14" that those 14 schools have ALWAYS been the top 14?  If a new school cracked the top 14, wouldn't the "T14" no longer exist?

Texas has been in the Top 14.

EDIT: In the original rankings, Texas was #11 and UCLA was #14.
