I would contact admissions either way. Might as well get the applications complete ASAP and who knows how long LSAC might take to notify the schools if they do it at all.

I did the same. Within the past few days I've become terribly sick. I thought I'd try and take the test under these conditions and hopefully be able to persevere but, unfortunately, after taking the first half of the test I didn't feel like I substantially improved my score and may have done worse because I was feeling so ill.

It's not the end of the world. I'm not going to bother taking it a third time even though I could do better. If I don't get accepted into my somewhat reaching/target schools, I'll just accept a scholarship at  the ones I'm likely to get into. Who knows, it may turn out for the better this way.

I'm sure your cycle will turn out fine, The Truth.

wow, that's really rough.

but truth, it sounds like you've settled on your course of action and now you get to submit your apps and get decisions more quickly.  if the schools you're applying to are worth their weight in salt then they'll see your app for the potential you have, not one stupid standardized exam.

How does this sound?

Dear Admissions Committee,
I decided not to complete the LSAT on December 1, 2007.
Sincerely,
TheTruth

You'll want to provide an explanation. That looks transparently evasive.

yeesh. i wouldn't even bother, honestly. getting a letter like that would make the adcomm notice it more. as your app stands, they'll just look at your existing LSAT score, your gpa, and then move on to your letters of rec, resume, and personal statement. honestly.
