Full ride Emory or Gtown
« on: November 29, 2007, 12:19:16 AM »
I would have some debt at Gtown, but certainly nothing exceeding $50,000

I have an MBA so I am wondering if that puts me at an advantage to other candidate in the OCI rat race. Thus making me a shoe in for Biglaw. I would mainly want to go to Emory as a change of scenery and avoid the guilt associated with my folks shelling out dough for my education

PS I asked this in another section so don't be offended. I am posing this question here because I merely want a Black perspective.

I concur.  While I have major love for Emory, it's law school isn't in the same league as GULC.  An MBA probably gives you next to no advantage at OCI, especially when you compare it to the importance that grades will have.  $50,000 is not much debt at all, especially since your chance of getting that Biglaw job is so much better coming from GULC.  Do you want to practice in Atlanta?

I apologise if this is kinda rambling and incoherent; it's late.

GULC are evil people, so go to Emory.

Nah, seriously go to GULC.  The $50,000 in debt is really not that serious in the long run.
