I HATE pikeys.

Anyhoooo, I'm really excited about Mich! I submitted my lawyer's club app last week, and received my confirmation today.

I like pikeys, they're like angry real-life leprechauns.
I didn't see this question in the 1L thread: What are the chances of finding a May-May lease for a place near the law school? Is this possible, or do most summer starters just occupy sublets during the summer and scramble to move somewhere else in August?

It's possible, but they aren't as common (or cheap) as sublets, so most people do the latter.  Also, it depends on how you define "near."

For those of you who sent in your deposit, have you heard back from Michigan and/or received  your student ID and password?

I haven't heard anything yet, but I only sent my deposit last Wednesday, I think.

so is it correct that the LSDers on here think that the lawyer's club isn't worth it?  Having aircon is crucial for me, I'm looking off campus.

It's not worth it to us, but that doesn't mean it's not worth it in general.  It depends on what your preferences and priorities are.

I wouldn't recommend it.  I know a 1L who lives in Canton, and even that is relatively far.

You could have told me that three years ago when I had no law school plans and bought a house on the east side ;)

I'm looking for a potential commuting partner.  My alternative plan is to rent an apartment with someone and pay my half (or third or whatever) of the rent even though I wont be staying there all the time.  Should work out to be a good deal for the co-lessee(s).
