it's a joke that you guys are quibbling over rankings. This USNWR crap is ONE set of rankings by ONE easily impressionable private journalistic medium. If they were ABA rankings it would be different. If you Miami people want something to feel better about after the new rankings, look at all the BIGLAW firms' websites in South Florida, go to the Attorneys section and look at how many UMiami people there are in the firms. THERE ARE TONS AND THEY WANT TO HIRE YOU TO HELP THEIR SCHOOL!!!
FIU will never get students w/ big numbers because Miami will just offer them the standard $69k thereby eliminating FIU's precious tuition price.
The Dean said yesterday that the median lsat changed from 158 to 157, which is why the rankings dropped. Also, the employment rate after graduation dropped from 93% to 90% causinng a drop as well. He was critical of the formula used by US news.
