applying as international student?
« on: October 25, 2007, 08:58:24 PM »
i moved to the United States to attend college four years ago. my current employer has recently sponsored my green card, which i'm scheduled to receive in the next several months. my stats are: LSAT 161, GPA 3.9. additionally, i had to work while attending college, did several internships, and volunteering. my question is, should i apply this cycle as international student or should i wait intil i get my green card and apply next year?

Can you take out federal loans now? I think it's wise to wait a year so you can take advantage of them (i'm not sure though if you have to be a citizen, or just a permanent resident to take federal loans). Other than that, i don't see the difference...

i guess my biggest concern was, whether the fact that i'm applying as international student is going to hinder my chances. none of the schools i looked at admitted any international students last year.
