Hi, trying to catch attention, and going for the starting-with-a-quote approach to a PS...

I have a funny quote/story about when someone referred to me as a "guinea".  It works in context - i'm English but i have an Italian name.  I found it funny.  And the guy who used the word clearly meant it in jest (well i hope he did).

How offensive a word is it?  I'm using it to make a point about my identity.  Is this fair game do you think?

I just don't really have a feel for this - just not a word you hear in the UK.
