typo in LOR - big problem?
« on: October 15, 2007, 10:36:39 PM »

so my boss, whom i've been working with for about 4 years, just wrote me a LOR.  she let me read it after she sent it, and it's fantastic.  however, there is a small typo  in the middle of one of the paragraphs (she wrote 'day' instead of 'data').  clearly this isn't a huge deal, but is it worth resubmitting?  i'm sure that she'd be happy to if i point out the mistake; it's more that i'm wondering whether from an adcomm perspective, it will show up that a letter was sent/canceled/sent, which could look strange...

thoughts?  let thy wisdom rain down on me, oh sagely ones..

Since it isn't a mistake you personally made, I doubt it would have an adverse impact on your chances. I would just let it go. Most people don't even get to proofread their LOR's.
What do you think I am around here, a night watchman?
