APPLYING FOR SECOND TIME!!! help

    can I use the same LOR? Would it still be on file? I applied just last year and didn't get in..

alternatively....

if i can't use the same exact LOR.... can I have the SAME person write a different LOR??
Will they check?

Ok some questions...

Have your numbers changed at all? Are you applying significantly earlier than last time? Are you doing a new PS? A Why X statement? Other things differently? New work experience?

The same LORs should be fine if you have something else different to add. Although you may want to get a second opinion on that.

This is round 2 for me too. No numbers increase.... but applying 4-6 months earlier (depending on school), new PS, new job as legal assistant, and 2 new LORs. We'll see how it goes.

I would try to get a new LOR, and definitely write a new PS. Update your resume and explain how you spent your year.

Possible URM.

At first I thought your recommendations might have been not so good.  But looking at your numbers, you might not be applying to the right range of schools.

I checked LawSchoolNumbers, and looked at the schools that people with similar numbers got into.  They were all Tier 4 schools.  So you've got a shot.  I would recommend applying to several schools, like a handful of Tier 3 and 4 schools, and maybe a couple of reaches in the 80 - 100 range of the Tier 2.  US News and World Report will list the schools for free on their website.

yeah..truth is.. i'm asking for a friend of mine..forgot i had my stats from before up..oops.. i'm a 3L in a tier 3 school..my friend is looking at a tier 4 school which is actually pretty competitive because it's in manhattan... stats are high gpa..low lsat.  thanks tho happypeople..
