I've been trying to figure this out the past couple of days and have been getting stumped. Let's say there's the following set up in a LG question (this is obviously a much more simplified version):

There are 8 houses, with 4 houses on each side. House 1 faces House 2, House 3 faces House 4, etc. They each have only one color light in their driveway: Red, green, or blue. The following conditions apply:

House 1 has a green light

House 2's color is not the same as any house

House 6 and 3 match up if both their colors are blue.

Now what I can't figure out in these types of problems is the adjacent wording. Does that mean no houses on each side, or across from, or diagonal can have the same colors?? I always assumed that no house to the left and right, diagonal, and across was what adjacent referred to...but I think I might be wrong.
