Uh I've heard the verbal section is really hard and the math section scale is ridiculous... 1/4 of people get an 800 or something ridiculous like that.

It probably depends on your skill set.  I absolutely suck at math, and I haven't taken calculus since like freshman year of college so I'd probably get an awful math score.  I also don't feel like cramming vocab for the verbal section.  But I'm naturally pretty good at the type of reasoning the LSAT tests so I'm sure it was *much* easier for me than the GRE would be.  :)

The GRE was the easiest standardized test I've ever taken.  I left the test center thinking that the ETS must believe that college is a supreme waste of time.

ETA: I took the CAT version so that may have played into my experience of the test.

It's the computer-adaptive version.  You take the test at terminals and the computer generates questions based on your response to the previous question.  You get it wrong, it gives you an easier question and vice versa.  I think it's supposed to yield a more accurate representation of your skills.  I'm not sure, but my understanding was that they were slowly phasing out the paper administrations of the test.

Oh yah. Got you. Supposedly there is a new exam type starting in November -- the month when I want to take it.

I think it's just a few new question types, not a complete overhaul.  At least that's what Google told me.
