I live in California too and the cheapest I've seen recently is like around $2.09/gallon.  Crazy.  This has got to stop!  Or else I'm buying a hybrid.  Well not that I can actually afford one right now...

New Orleans is definitely not the cheapest area for gas. Rural LA is better, and gas was cheaper back home in Texas when I was there last week.

I suppose I have a more general conception of "area" for you.  Clearly, though, I am in the region of the country with the cheapest gas.

That's funny because CNN said Atlanta has the lowest gas rates and I thought I lived in the country's cheapest area for gas.  Granted, since I take the sub to work, it's not an issue, but I am slightly disheartened.  ;)

Perhaps I should learn to read the whole thread :)
I just saw you changed that to region.

luckily i live in a city with good public transportation so i don't need a car.  besides parking in my neighborhood is a female dog and i refuse to pay $175 a month to park in a garage.
