When did you decide your area of specilization?
« on: September 11, 2007, 12:11:46 PM »
For all the recent 1Ls, do you know what area of law you want to specialize in, and if so, when/how did you come to this realization?

Thanks.

Combination of undergrad coursework (international law) and lifelong geekdom (internet/technology law). May change, of course.

I decided it just last week.

And the week before.

And last month.

And last year.

And five years ago.

It's never too early to start deciding.
I don't want to do it if it hurts or if it makes you get all sticky.

Since birth, I've gotten a kick out of state-sanctioned incursions into spheres of personal autonomy.

I figured out what I wanted to specialize in before I started studying for the LSAT. It involved introspection about what I'm good at, what I enjoy doing and why.
