For people that already applied, did you send your DS to all the schools you applied to or just the ones that specifically asked for it?

Would it be ok to send my DS to all the schools I'm applying to or will it just bog down my file with more paperwork? I seem to hear a lot of talk about DSs but it doesn't seem as if many schools ask for one explicitly.
