For those wondering how frequently your LSAC account will update, the answer according to LSAC is:

All documents will be entered into your account as soon as they are processed.  As soon as a letter is processed, the information is added to your file.

27 days and counting since my first LOR was mailed...nothing in LSAC's system yet.

This is way too long...I think you should call LSAC and perhaps have it sent in again.

Funny story: I just emailed LSAC an expression of my frustrated view (I made myself remain civil) of their LOR service -- and got an immediate response back from a rep saying that I should have the letter faxed directly to her so at least I'd know it got there.

Not even two minutes later, I check my LSAC account again and voila - I see a letter there (albeit not the one sent 3 weeks ago; this one was faxed last week from a different recommender).

Next I get an email from LSAC management, updating me that there haven't been any problems with my account, etc.

Guess it pays to be the squeaky wheel - I'll have to get the first letter faxed as well.

Yes - the recommender can fax the signed letter and the LSAC sheet that you sign to (215)504-1444.

yup, per LSAC:

Thank you for your inquiry to LSAC:

Letters of recommendation are processed in approximately two to three
weeks after they are received by LSAC, and will be entered into your
account when the processing is complete.  Because of the volume of
letters received by LSAC, we are unable to check the status of a letter
until it is processed.

If you are concerned that your letter was never received by LSAC, your
recommender may fax their signed letter and completed form to
215-504-1444.
